Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Cornwall Transfers & Tours (cornwalltransfers.co.uk).
By completing a booking through our website or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, which constitute the entire agreement between you and Cornwall Transfers & Tours (“we”, “our”, or “the Company”) in relation to the taxi service (“Service”) provided. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will not affect bookings already confirmed, which will remain at the rate agreed at the time of booking.
1. Booking & Cancellation
- Advance Booking: We require a minimum of 36 hours’ notice for all online bookings. If your booking is within 36 hours, please contact our office directly to check availability.
- Cancellation: Cancellations made at least 7 days before the scheduled service will be fully refunded. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the scheduled service will be subject to a charge equal to the deposit already paid or £100 (whichever is the lower amount). Cancellations made after the vehicle has been dispatched will incur the full fare.
Please contact us immediately if you need to cancel your booking. - Flight Delays: We will track all incoming flights and adjust the pickup time accordingly. For airport pick-ups, we allow 90 minutes of free waiting time from the time of landing. After this, waiting charges apply at a rate of £25 for every additional 30 minutes of waiting. Please allow enough time for immigration and baggage collection to avoid unnecessary delays.
- No Show: For airport pickups, if the driver is unable to make contact with the passenger within 120 minutes of the confirmed landing time, the booking will be considered a “no-show,” and no refund will be issued.
2. Vehicle & Passenger Requirements
- Passenger & Luggage Requirements: You must ensure that you book an appropriately sized vehicle for the number of passengers and the amount of luggage. We cannot guarantee the transportation of excessive luggage or any items that do not fit within the booked vehicle.
- Child Seats: If a child seat is required, please specify this in the ‘Special Notes’ section at the time of booking. While we will make every effort to provide a suitable baby/booster seat, you are also welcome to bring your own. Note that the installation of the child seat must be carried out by you.
- Passenger Conduct: You are responsible for the behaviour of all passengers in the vehicle. Any damage or soiling of the vehicle may result in additional cleaning charges. In the event that passengers behave in a disruptive or inappropriate manner, the driver reserves the right to refuse service and ask the passengers to vacate the vehicle immediately. No refund will be given.
3. Additional Charges
- Changes to the Journey: If the journey deviates from the original booking (e.g., extra mileage, waiting time, or changes to the route), you agree to pay for all additional costs incurred based on our standard pricing structure.
- Waiting Time: For airport pickups, we allow 90 minutes free waiting time after landing. Waiting time charges will apply after this period. Please note that waiting time charges will also apply for delays caused by immigration, baggage claim, or any other factors under the passenger’s control.
4. Subcontractors & Partners
We may use subcontractors or partner companies to fulfil a booking. You agree to accept service from any such third parties, provided they meet our standards.
5. Liability & Responsibility
- Damage to Property: You are responsible for ensuring that your luggage and personal items are correctly loaded and unloaded. We or our subcontractors are not liable for any loss or damage to personal property.
- Vehicle Breakdown: In the event of a vehicle breakdown, we will make every reasonable effort to provide an alternative vehicle to complete the journey as quickly as possible.
- Force Majeure: We may cancel or suspend our services due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to national emergencies, extreme weather, fuel shortages, civil unrest, or terrorist activity. In such cases, refunds will be issued in accordance with the circumstances.
- Legal Requirements: It is illegal to make private bookings with our drivers. We will not be responsible for any situation or incident occurring from such unauthorised bookings.
6. Limitation of Liability for Late Arrival at the Airport
While we make every effort to ensure that passengers arrive at the airport on time, we cannot be held responsible for any delays that result in passengers missing their flight or arriving after their designated check-in time. The following conditions apply:
- Traffic and Road Conditions: We are not liable for any delays caused by unforeseen traffic conditions, road closures, accidents, or any other factors beyond our control, including but not limited to weather disruptions or roadworks.
- Late Pickup: If the passenger is not ready at the designated pickup time, or if they are delayed in arriving at the pickup location, we cannot be held responsible for any resulting delays in reaching the airport.
- Missed Flights: We are not liable for any missed flights, check-in deadlines, or other time-sensitive travel commitments caused by delays in transit. It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they allow enough time for travel to the airport, including potential delays caused by traffic or other factors.
- Travel Insurance: It is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance policy provides adequate coverage for your specific needs. Having travel insurance will help protect you against potential financial loss in such cases.
7. Customer Service & Complaints
We take all complaints seriously and investigate them thoroughly. If you have any issues or concerns, please contact us by phone or email, quoting your booking reference number and providing as much detail as possible.
8. Passenger Behaviour & Safety
- Alcohol & Drugs: We have a strict policy against passengers travelling under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If we believe that any passenger is intoxicated, we have the right to refuse service, and the booking may be terminated without refund.
- Smoking: All of our vehicles are strictly non-smoking.
- Driver’s Right to Refuse Service: We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if we believe that a passenger’s behaviour may endanger the driver, vehicle, or other passengers.
9. Insurance & Risk
All of our vehicles are fully insured for passenger and third-party claims. However, passengers are responsible for their own belongings, which are carried at their own risk. We recommend that passengers ensure they are adequately covered by travel insurance for their personal property.
We strongly recommend that all passengers obtain adequate travel insurance to cover any potential issues or unexpected events that may arise before, during, or after your journey. Travel insurance can provide you with coverage for a variety of situations, including:
Delays: Coverage for delays in transit, including missed flights, hotel stays, or additional transport costs due to factors beyond your control (e.g., traffic, weather, or accidents).
Missed Flights: In the event that you miss your flight due to circumstances such as delays in transport or issues at the airport, travel insurance may cover the costs associated with rebooking your flight or any associated penalties.
Trip Interruption: If your travel plans are disrupted by unforeseen events, such as illness, weather conditions, or emergencies, having appropriate insurance can help minimise any financial impact.
10. Call Recording
For quality assurance and training purposes, all phone calls to our office may be recorded.
11. Miscellaneous
- Vehicle & Driver Changes: We reserve the right to change the vehicle or driver at any time if necessary, without prior notice.
- Refunds & Compensation: We will not be liable for any compensation if a passenger leaves the pickup point without informing us or uses another taxi service without our consent.
